ABOUT US

One thing every prospective pet owner has to be careful about is the fact that animals are different and similar to humans. They may not speak, or comprehend what humans say, but they need to be brought up and trained much like how human babies are trained and taught from birth. Furthermore, what everyone has to understand is the fact that pets are animals that have a certain set of information present in their genetic makeup. That information makes them different from humans, and they need to be properly trained to live in a household. Hence, a pet needs certain training at any point in its life with both physical and behavioral having to be taken into account. To make sure a situation like this doesn’t arise, you need to have your pets properly looked after and trained as well.

However, you cannot let just anyone take care of your pets. Pets are precious companions. They cannot be entrusted to just anyone. The person who happens to be entrusted with them has to have a certain set of credentials and experience that makes them fit to handle something as precious as someone’s pets. Finding a pet trainer you can trust is not an easy task. There is so much you need to be mindful about before picking the one that suits your requirements. If you’re looking for a pet trainer with more than a decade of experience, and a fantastic relationship with all the pets they have trained, look no further than Down Dog Pet Training & Therapy and Chanda St. Peters, C.D.P.T.

We provide love to all fur babies!

WHY US?

Chanda has been training pets for over a decade professionally. Her service ranges from domestic animals such as dogs and cats to exotic ones. Beyond her professional experience, Chanda happens to have been in the domestic and exotic animal training and care service for over 15 years. Her experience with a plethora of different animals has made her an expert on a number of different areas in the pet training service.

Chanda is not just experienced in training pets. She has experience with rehabilitating them as well. And this experience goes from small dogs to aggressive ones, and way beyond to exotic huge animals such as lions, tigers, bears, and much more. Chanda has spent a lot of her professional life volunteering at and working with rescue shelters and has a strong affinity for animals of all kinds. Her skills extend from simple animal training to certifications in CPR, rehab, first aid, and much more!

Beyond just being a pet trainer, Chanda happens to be a pet mediator as well. With years of experience with animals by working at zoos and her own pet sitting business, Chanda knows just what an animal needs from its owner. Hence, she trains families and owners about how to properly take care of their pets, instead of training the pets. Chanda can educate owners on pet nutrition and exercise as well, making her the perfect pet trainer to help not just the pets, but the owners as well.

Dog Walking

A dog with excessive energy is not an obedient pet.  They need to get it out, just like us!

Obedience Training

An obedient dog is a very happy dog.  When your pet is fearful of everything and has increased anxiety, it makes for an unhappy pet.

Behavior Modification

Sometimes we have a pet that has a difficult time with certain situations.  Usually it’s due to fear. We can help you with correcting bad behaviors.

Leash Training

We all love to go on walks!  They are much more enjoyable when your dog is happy and walking with you while on a leash!

Socialization

Just like us… Pets need to be socialized.  They can become very fearful and have bad anxiety if they do not come in contact with everyone learning that they will not be hurt.

Happier Pet

When your pet is happy, you are happy!  When you and your pet learn to communicate… You both become happy!
